Zherdev not going to get paid by Rangers

Zherdev: Even more reports out of New York are saying that the Rangers will walk away from a salary awarded through arbitration. It is reported Zherdev could be awarded in the range of $4.5 million while the Rangers only want to pay $3.25 million.

Jmess: The way things are sounding it really seems as though Zherdev will not be a Ranger next season especially if they don't work out a deal before his arbitration date. I think the Rangers are actually doing a financially smart move here, which is shocking since it's the Rangers. Zherdev has well documented off ice problems when he was with Columbus and last year could have been a fluke. Zherdev has to show consistancy before he deserves to cash in. However if he does leave the Rangers expect some team to overpay for him.
